PACE certified, environmentally friendly

Did you know your UMC Food Service restaurants are PACE certified?

PACE (Partners for A Clean Environment) is a voluntary partnership of Boulder County businesses and local governments dedicated to a better environment.  Your UMC Food Service is PACE-certified, gained through our regular practice of recycling, using less toxic cleansers and washable towels for cleaning, and implementing new water and energy conservation measures.
For more information about PACE, visit www.bouldercolorado.gov/www/pace/index.html
Some of the ways the UMC incorporates sustainable practices and materials in our building and daily operations:
  • energy saving light switches, compact bulbs and strategic use of windows
  • sustainable building materials, such as bamboo flooring
  • high EPA energy star score for energy efficiency
  • recycled building materials throughout
  • estimated 89% recycling diversion rate
  • native flora landscaping
  • water conservation methods
  • powered by wind energy
  • discounts for reusable mugs
  • fair trade coffee
  • nontoxic cleaning products
