UMC employees participate in the 2nd Annual Buffalo Can Challenge
(May 20, 2009) During the month of April, the UMC participated in the 2nd Annual Buffalo Can Challenge (BuCC), a campus-wide food drive and design competition where sculptures are constructed from donated cans of food. CU-Boulder's Volunteer Resource Center organizes the BuCC to help build awareness for the Boulder Community Food Share.
UMC employees collected over one ton of non-perishable food items from individual contributions and vendor resources! Their sculpture entry depicted the U.S.S. Colorado's ship bell (housed in the UMC Veterans Lounge) and a waving American flag, in recognition of the UMC as Colorado's Official Memorial to Veterans of War. All sculpture entries were on view at Balch Fieldhouse during the CU Spring Game Weekend, April 24 and 25. Click here for photos>>
