DSCC: Event Venue, Meeting and Study Space
Central to the DSCC’s purpose of serving underrepresented communities is the Center’s 780 square foot venue located on the 4th floor of the UMC (room 457). The venue is primarily available to underrepresented student organizations to use as a gathering space or for events and meetings. Other CU student organizations and departments may also reserve the venue for multicultural or ethnically focused events or diversity trainings.
The venue
is an excellent space for many different types of events or gatherings.
It features:
- two-story vaulted ceiling
- bamboo flooring
- comfortable seating
- exceptional views
- range of lighting options
The room can hold a maximum of 60 people and can be arranged in a wide variety of ways.
It is equipped with:
- Wi-Fi
- dry erase board
- conference table
- Portable DVD/video/cable/data projection, PA sound system, and TV are available.
Reservations: There is a list of constituent student organizations that may reserve the DSCC without special approval. These groups hold scheduling priority. If your group is on the list, you may reserve the DSCC by contacting the UMC Events Planning & Catering office directly and making your request: 303.492.8833 or http://umc.colorado.edu/planEvent/planEvent.html If you wish to inquire whether your group is on the list or not, please contact the DSCC.
If your group is not on the constituent list, and you wish to seek approval to reserve the DSCC, please follow these steps:
1) Contact UMC Events Planning & Catering to inquire if the space is available at the time needed and place a tentative hold: 303.492.8833 or http://umc.colorado.edu/planEvent/planEvent.html
2) If the the space is available, email dscc@colorado.edu to request approval and include the following details:
a.Name of organization or department
b.Purpose and content of event or meeting
c.Date and time of event or meeting
d.Status of the event: Is it open to all students or not and who is the intended audience?
e.Any other pertinent details
3) Reservation requests are then reviewed by DSCC staff and a member will respond by email with approval or denial
4) If your group receives approval, contact UMC Events Planning & Catering again to confirm your reservation
