SPRING 2014 CALENDAR

Thursday, February 6th from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. UMC 235

Learn basic self-defense techniques that work! This class will cover self-defense against the most common strikes, grabs, holds and much more. All fo the materials will be provided, just come ready to learn. Space is limited so please arrive early.

Thursday, March 6th from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. UMC Alferd Packer Grill

Learn professional tricks and tips of cake decorating! Intermission is hosting a cake decorating tutorial that will be follwed by an Ace of Cakes competition.

FALL 2013 CALENDAR

Thursday, September 5th from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. North Dining Room Stage

Join your friends and the fine folks from Color Me Mine in the UMC for a night of fun, food, and pottery painting! UMC Intermission has put together a great opportunity to get as messy as you want and as a creative as you can be! All materials will be provided. This program will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Make sure you show up early to reserve your spot.

Thursday, October 3rd from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. UMC Tent on the South Terrace (Due to the potential for unfavorable weather, we are going to move this program to the UMC Aspen rooms on the second floor near the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom)

Posh Splat will be coming for a night of canvases and cupcakes! Come to the UMC Tent on the South Terrace to participate in an instructor led painting! We will be painting Aspen trees. All supplies are provided so you only need to bring your enthusiasm for painting! This program is provided on a first come, first serve basis and while supplies last. If you are enthusiastic about partaking in this event be sure to get to the UMC Tent at 6:45p.m. to reserve a spot.

Thursday, November 7th from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom

Intermission is excited to celebrate the UMC's 60th Birthday! We will be hosting a night of rollar skating. Roller skates will be provided so come enjoy a great time with your friends. A current Buff OneCard is required to roll with us.

Run, run, as fast as you can to Intermission for some good old fashioned gingerbread house making! Join us for a great wintery time with your friends! All of the materials will be provided, all we need from you is your smile and some holiday cheer. Space is limited so please arrive early.

Learn a new and fun way to make great designs out of old license plates!

GINGERBREAD HOUSE MAKING

Want to impress your friends and family with your gingerbread house making skills? Come to the UMC on Thursday and learn new tips and skills for making gingerbread houses. "The Best Gingerbread House" will be awarded at 8:45pm.

ACE OF CAKES COMPETITION

Think you have what it takes to be the best? Come compete on a team or individually and express your most creative cake with your interpreation of our theme, "The Best Part of CU." Supplies will be provided.
 
CELEBRATE MARDI GRAS
Celebrate Mardi Gras with red beans & rice, vegetarian jambalaya, catfish tidbits & more.  Design a festive beaded mask and dance to live music by a New Orleans Style band.  Food, supplies and entertainment are FREE!

VALENTINES DAY GIFT BASKETS
Take some time out to create a Valentine's Day Gift Basket to give to someone special or treat yourself! Supplies, hot drinks, and cookies are provided. Limited to the first 50 students.

TIE-DYE AND BEADING
Take home an awesome tie-dye t-shirt and beautiful beaded bracelet! Free supplies and beading class. Get their early. Beading class reserved for the first 30 students.

MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE NIGHT
Learn killer Michael Jackson moves to show off to your friends! Win prizes! Free snacks, MJ trivia and dance class!

MAKE YOUR OWN MUSIC VIDEO
Have you ever wanted to be a Pop Star? Grab your friends & record yourselves in an MTV video! We provide the costumes, DVD's & Bling!

ONE NIGHT ONLY - STAND UP COMEDY SHOWCASE IN CLUB 156.
Featuring up-and-coming New York comedian Brendan Fitzgibbons, Jordan Zuckerman, Dick Black, and Matt Baca. Special FREE engagement featuring some of Colorado's finest talent.

ARTS & CRAFTS
Decoupage night. Want to exercise a little creativity?! Come one and all to make a collage. Even better, we will provide a bunch of FREE stuff upon which to make your masterpiece - random furniture for your room, miscellaneous school supplies, and other fun stuff for you to keep! All materials provided, definitely no experience needed.

FLOWERPOT PAINTING AND PLANTING
Celebrate the wonderful weather by painting a ceramic pot. When you're done we provide soil and seeds for you to plant. All materials will be provided FREE.

TRIVIA WITH PRIZES!
Trivia Night. Come out for an awesome night of trivia. Prizes and good times for all!

IMPROV SHOW
Don't miss a performance by CU's own student improv group, Left Right Tim in Club 156. Best of all, this performance is free.

OPEN MIC NIGHT
Calling all poets, musicians, singers and performers. Show off your skills at Intermission's Open Mic night. Skip the coffeehouse tonight because snacks are on us!
